Depression Story By: Steve Doss

I have suffered from severe clinical-resistant depression for 20 years..Just got out of Va after 7 shock treatments. Depression and despair are like 2 giant quicksands pulling me down. I try to hope and pray every day to just get thru the day without hurting myself. Depression and despair are like a tidal wave. Thank You for letting me share-Steve

    Steve,
    I remember the tidal wave well. I am fortunate that I now have meds that work to treat my depression. When I was depressed, there were two things that lifted the depression for a while (just to give my brain a rest). The first thing was to be out side walking and the second was to volunteer helping other people. It got my mind off the self focus that depression causes. It is not a cure, it was a relief. I hope you find your way through this.
