I am a retired IMB Electronic Engineer. I collect guns, both long and short. I collect old classic and new top end watches. I enjoy repairing watches and shooting guns. I fix all kinds of things for my 3 daughters and others. I volunteer, mostly with mentally handicapped.
I first experienced depression in the 1970’s. There was a lot of stress at work and home. Work required me to be on call 24/7 and I had many call outs. I also had Fibromyalgia and started taking prescription pain pills. Pain became worse and I started taking stronger pills.
I believe I have had one consecutive episode of depression from the 1970’s to 2011. I am still on heavier and stronger pain meds.
Many things made me decide to get TMS Therapy, including my family doctor, NeuroStar TMS Therapy doctor, and my family (3 daughters and wife) and friends. It was hard to justify getting the treatment because of the cost, but I decided around age 70, I wanted to try to be normal again. I was retired so I had to borrow some of the money for treatment.
NeuroStar TMS Therapy was scary at first according to the doctor. I was definitely in the percentage of people who had headache and dizziness, but I could see the improvement so I continued on.
I began to notice a change after about 10 to 15 treatments and my neighbor told me he saw a big change in me. Then other people including my family doctor were impressed with the change. I was able to remain calm and look at things in a very new and different light.
After receiving NeuroStar TMS Therapy I have become closer with my family. I have made the decision to come off of all Narcotic prescribed pain pills and try to manage my pain in alternate ways.
There is no comparison between NeuroStar TMS Therapy and antidepressants. Although the TMS treatment did give me bad headaches, it was in approximately 41 years the only treatment that brought me above the water without many side effects! I heartily recommend it!
